Walking along the restored walls and gates offers a peaceful and scenic experience, perfect for a relaxing stroll. The area also features traditional houses and a Confucian school, giving a glimpse into Korea’s past. After your visit, you can enjoy a local specialty at the nearby Eonyang Bulgogi Street, known for its delicious grilled beef.
3. Tongdosa Temple
Located in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do, Tongdosa is one of Korea’s most important Buddhist temples, founded during the Silla Dynasty. It is known as a “Buddha-Relic Temple” as it houses the relics of the historical Buddha, enshrined beneath the Geumgang Gyedan (Diamond Altar) instead of in a statue. The temple, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is filled with serene pavilions and tranquil forest paths that offer a calming retreat. Tongdosa is especially beautiful during cherry blossom season in spring and when the leaves turn in autumn.
